LEGO were looking to innovate their in-store retail experience, pairing play with future thinking tech to create ‘WOW’ moments for visitors.
After some concept exploration to identify multiple 'ways in', Brick DJ was created. It’s an open play space that turns LEGO bricks into musical beats and creates a soundtrack from LEGO builds. All underpinned by Computer Vision technology it allows for visitors in stores to play in a natural way.

Each LEGO brick colour represents a musical sound and every time a new colour is introduced onto the baseplate, a new musical sound is introduced. All brick sounds are added to a melody in real time creating a soundtrack as the user plays. turning LEGO building into a multisensory experience.
